Prague, 13 July 2021 - In the first six months of this year, the toll collection from vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes reached 7.084 billion crowns. Compared to the first half of 2020, it was almost 29% more. In addition to the adjustment in toll rates on 1 January 2021, the growth in traffic intensity is also significantly contributing to the growth in toll collection. From March to June, the number of toll transactions in CzechToll's  system grew at a double-digit rate each month.

In June, toll collection increased by 28% year on year to almost 1.256 billion crowns. It was the second largest collection in one month since 2007, right after March of this year (when the collection reached 1.285 billion crowns). As in the first half of the year, in addition to higher traffic intensity, the introduction of a three-component toll in particular contributed to the growth in June as well - from the beginning of the year, the toll rates also include charges for traffic noise and air pollution from lorry operation. The satellite toll system recorded almost 96 million toll transactions in June, 12% more than in June 2020.

At the end of the first half of the year, over 595,000 vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes were registered in the electronic toll system. Of these, 160,000 vehicles have domestic license plate numbers, the remaining 435,000 cars are registered abroad. The number of OBUs issued to carriers exceed 500 thousand units.
