Warning for drivers: new no-overtaking sections for trucks on the D1 motorway

From November 11, 2023, an overtaking ban for trucks began to apply on the D1 highway on the section from kilometer 90 to 112. The overtaking restriction applies every day from 05:00 to 22:00. Newly installed traffic signs warn drivers about the prohibition of overtaking. Over the next few days, signs should be placed along the D1 highway in the entire section that runs through Vysočina. The overtaking ban for trucks will be implemented in two phases:

• in mid-November, the overtaking ban between EXIT 90 Humpolec – EXIT 112 Jihlava and exit 146 Velké Meziříčí-východ – EXIT 182 Kývalka – except for the sections where there are climbing lanes;
• at the beginning of 2024, the ban will be extended in the section EXIT 21 Mirošovice – EXIT 90 Humpolec and EXIT 112 Jihlava – EXIT 141 Velké Meziříčí-západ (again, with the exception of uphill lanes, where overtaking will be allowed).

The ban is time-limited in most sections only for the daily time between 6:00 in the morning and 22:00 in the evening, and in some sections already from 5:00 in the morning. Therefore, we recommend that drivers pay extra attention to following traffic signs.
