Prague, 22 August 2019 - CzechToll has launched an information campaign today to alert hauliers of the obligation to register in the new electronic toll system and to equip vehicles with the necessary on-board unit. The system will be launched on 1 December 2019 and hauliers can enter into new contracts as of 22 September 2019.

Complete information about the new toll system will be available for hauliers on the established website at www.mytocz.eu as of today. A new customer service line will also be launched on the phone number +420 243 243 243, where   operators are ready to advise hauliers about their new obligations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Over the next three months, over half of the hauliers will be contacted by CzechToll directly so that trained personnel can complete the necessary registration. Especially smaller hauliers, about which the company does not have enough information for direct contact, will be contacted by CzechToll through advertising in the press, on the Internet and in radio broadcast.

The cost of operating a toll system in the Czech Republic will fall by one third following the launch of the new toll system compared to the current solution. One billion Czech crowns more will thus remain in the state budget from the toll collected each year. A precondition for a successful transition to the new system is in particular the timely replacement of more than 400 thousand on-board units, which are now in operation most often in vehicles from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
