On 1 January 2020 the amendment to Act No. 13/1997 Coll. on Roads as amended came into effect and introduced (among other things) a new category of vehicles exempt from toll payment. According to provision of Section 20a(1)(o) (a) vehicles using exclusively electricity or hydrogen as fuel, and (b) vehicles using electricity or hydrogen in combination with another fuel, if the CO2 emission value in the combined operation does not exceed 50 g/km, are exempt from toll payment.

If you are an operator of a vehicle registered in the electronic toll system and your vehicle meets the aforesaid conditions for exemption, please come to any Contact Point and change its registration to the toll exempt mode.  Registration must be accompanied by a claim for exemption, by means of a vehicle registration certificate or other document demonstrating that (a) the vehicle uses exclusively electricity or hydrogen as fuel, or (b) the vehicle uses electricity as fuel or hydrogen in combination with another fuel and at the same time the CO2 emission value in the combined operation does not exceed 50 g/km. The Contact Point will then process your application for exemption from toll payment and, once approved, you will pick up a new OBU for the toll exempt mode.
